What kinds of flowers can I preserve?
Flowers can hold meaning from so many moments—not just weddings. Bridal bouquets, memorial and funeral flowers, anniversary or birthday arrangements, flowers celebrating a new baby, or blooms from any occasion worth remembering can become a preserved piece of art.
How long does the process take?
Please allow up to three months from the time your flowers arrive. This gives them time to be carefully pressed and fully dried before I compose, frame, and return your finished piece.
How are my flowers pressed?
Each flower is carefully prepared and pressed individually, with the method adjusted when needed for different varieties and shapes. Because flowers are natural materials, their colors and forms will change somewhat as they dry—part of what makes every finished piece unique.
How is my artwork framed?
Each piece is framed using archival-quality materials and methods designed to protect and preserve your flowers. The botanicals are mounted on archival materials and kept separated from the glazing to help protect them over time.
How long will my artwork last?
Pressed flowers can be enjoyed for many years when properly preserved and displayed. Because they are natural materials, some gradual fading and color change should be expected over time. Archival framing helps slow that process, as does keeping your artwork away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat.
Do my flowers need to be fresh?
The fresher the flowers are when they arrive, the more options I’ll have when creating your piece. Ideally, flowers should be kept hydrated after your event and sent to me as soon as possible. I’ll provide instructions for getting them here safely.
How do I send my bouquet to you?
Once we’ve confirmed your piece, I’ll walk you through the shipping process and provide clear instructions for packing and sending your flowers so they arrive in the best possible condition.
What happens if some of my flowers don’t press well?
Not every flower responds to pressing in the same way, and occasionally a bloom may arrive damaged or simply not preserve well. I’ll select the flowers and botanical elements that will create the strongest finished piece while staying true to your original bouquet.
Will I use every flower from my bouquet?
Not necessarily. Your finished piece will be thoughtfully composed using the flowers and foliage that preserve best and work beautifully within your chosen size. Any expectations about returning unused flowers can be discussed before you begin.
